By participating in our experiences, guests acknowledge and accept the following conditions:
Weather, Cyclone & Force Majeure Policy
In the event of adverse weather conditions, cyclones, or other force majeure situations beyond our control, tours may be postponed, rescheduled, or adapted for safety reasons. Where possible, we will offer guests the option to rebook for a later date, postpone the experience, or receive a credit for future use. In certain cases where none of these options are feasible, a refund may be considered.
Liability & Assumption of Risk
Participation in all tours and activities is entirely at the guest’s own risk. Dodo Island Discoveries and its partners shall not be held liable for any injury, accident, loss, or damage sustained before, during, or after the experience.
Any bodily injury incurred during an activity is not covered by the tour operator. Guests are strongly advised to obtain valid travel insurance that includes coverage for adventure and outdoor activities.
Health, Fitness & Medical Responsibility
Guests are responsible for assessing their own physical condition and determining whether a tour is suitable for them. Certain activities, including but not limited to hiking and kayaking, may be physically demanding and can result in fatigue, muscle soreness, or minor injuries.
Guests must inform the tour operator and guide of any relevant medical conditions, injuries, illnesses, allergies, or physical limitations prior to the start of the tour. Failure to disclose such information is at the participant’s own risk.
The guide reserves the right to assess whether a guest is fit to participate in the activity. Guests who appear unfit to take part due to intoxication, unsafe behavior, or any condition that may compromise safety may be refused participation. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
Wildlife Encounters & Conservation Rules
Wildlife sightings, including but not limited to dolphins, are common but cannot be guaranteed. Sightings depend on natural conditions and animal behavior, which are beyond our control. No refunds will be issued if wildlife is not observed during the tour.
Touching, chasing, feeding, or disturbing dolphins, turtles, or any wild animals is strictly prohibited. Feeding wildlife is illegal in Mauritius and may result in fines imposed by local authorities.
Personal Belongings & Equipment
For water-based activities such as kayaking, guests are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. Phones, cameras, and electronic devices must be stored in dry bags or waterproof containers. The tour operator is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items.
Safety & Conduct During Tours
Guests must follow all safety instructions and directions given by the guide at all times. Failure to comply may result in the immediate termination of the activity at the guide’s discretion. In such cases, the booking will not be eligible for a refund.
Additional Expenses
Any services, consumables, or extras not explicitly included in the booking or communicated in advance are at the guest’s own expense and must be paid directly to the service provider.
By booking and participating in a tour, guests confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
